Your typical day at Talpa Network

  • Start with your daily bread and butter: shaping the future of news by developing the Talpa online news platform;
  • Lead, support and mentor the development team in Serbia in day-to-day delivery;
  • Set tactical course with the team;
  • Discuss new features with product owners;
  • Translate use cases into system architecture, process and product construction;
  • Drive quality and focus on Continuous Delivery practices;
  • Proactively monitor our platform lifecycle and suggest improvements;
  • Kick-start innovation by researching technologies and develop Proof of Concepts;
  • Have an excellent fresh lunch in our lounge with loads of fruit for desert;
  • Top this off with a stroll around the Hilversum office gardens with your tech, radio and news colleagues;
  • Plan your visit to the team in Serbia;
  • Experiment with new technology, expanding our current techstack: Typescript, GraphQL, Redis, DynamoDB, Serverless Framework, AWS Lambda, Kinesis, API Gateway, Cloudformation, S3.


A remarkable Technology Team

At the beating heart of our news platform in Hilversum things are really happening. In our informal and dynamic Talpa Network Technology Digital News team, you will find Solution Architects, Tech Leads and a Devops Engineer working together with the Product Owner and the development team in Serbia. As the 24/7 Newsroom is in our building, you are close to your business and feel the excitement of changing the news game.

• Build the a unique omni-channel news platform that will conquer the news market;

We are looking for a pragmatic innovation and motivation ‘booster’ with

• A minimum of 3-5+ years of experience as a Tech Lead;

• Solid knowledge of Typescript and AWS;

• Familiar with the agile way of working and development methodologies/tools;

• Experience with Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and DevOps;

• Deep knowledge of internet technology;

• Ability to estimate and plan project work and product development efforts;

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks;

• Problem solving, forward thinking and entrepreneurial mind-set;

• Hands-on mentality and a proactive attitude;

• The skill to work autonomously with a high level of responsibility;

• Knowledge of the Dutch language (or eager to learn) is preferred;

• The willingness to travel regularly to the teams in Serbia.
